Dust Bowl event (invitation here):
At 3:30 pm, there will be an optional field trip to the White House South Court Auditorium to watch a special director’s cut of the new Ken Burns documentary, Dust Bowl. This event is hosted by the National Endowment for the Humanities, and a panel discussion with Earth Policy Institute President Lester Brown, historian Timothy Egan, and FreshFarm Executive Director Ann Yonkers will follow. Tickets are limited, so students need to let me know if they wish to attend ASAP, and they should commit to attending.
We need to be at the auditorium (17th St & State Place) by 2:45 pm. Let's meet up outside the Farragut West Metro (I & 17th intersection) at 2:00 pm. I know this seems early, but I want to have a buffer. We will start walking at 2:15 pm. Since I'm sending them your information, they should know to expect you in case you're running late, but I'm not certain how this is all being coordinated, so try to be on time.
Film from home:
If you cannot attend this event, then you need to watch a film from a preselected list (look at bottom of this page) on your own time.
*Reflection post due by July 27th, 11:59 pm. Instructions are here.
*Short paper #2 due by July 28th, 11:59 pm. Instructions are here.
